Course Outline
This course aims to give you the confidence and competence to undertake Endodontic treatment understanding the rationale for each stage. We will delve into the theoretical aspects that underpin clinical Endodontics. The key focus will be on the practical application of Endodontics.
Course Aims
To review pulpal and periapical diseases.
To discuss root canal anatomy and access cavity design.
To discuss root canal preparation, irrigation and medication.
To review the varying file systems and obturation techniques.
Course Learning outcomes
Effectively diagnose pulpal and periapical conditions.
Recognise when endodontic intervention is required.
Understand the complexities of root canal systems.
Cut appropriate access cavities to locate root canals.
Understand the importance of chemical disinfection.
Identify the most appropriate root canal preparation strategy and obturation technique.
Effectively use modern rotary/reciprocating files and obturation equipment.
Understand the importance of pain management before, during and after Endodontic treatment.
